Why Spiritual Revolution?

Previous week we tried to understand the back ground to spiritual revolution. This week we will try to focus on the meaning of ''spiritual revolution''. A revolution of social or economic type is a drastic change in the thinking and ideas of people in a country or a place.Such a revolution may affect the administration of a country and bring in a new system of government. It has happened in Russia.France,England etc.An old system of ruling was replaced by a new one, which, interestingly, had many ingredients of the old model.Players changed, game continued. There is no significant change in man and in his attitude towards the real meaning and purpose of his life and existence. As a result, the societies in the above said countries have seen tremendous progress in the material life, but remained greatly ignorant of ''the other side.'' The ''other side'' is'' human transformation''. It is the human transformation that is needed today.Swami Ranganathananda's  words are a pointer towards this much needed Change:'' We have transformed external nature by controlling the energies of the Sun,of the rivers,of lightning,of wind and of the atomic nucleus. Now we shall be wise if we turn our attention to explore the spectrum of energy resources hidden within man himself.''
